Access, rights and charges
JBBS plans open access publication. Its article processing charge is stated below; license, copyright and publisher details will be confirmed before editorial decisions are made.
Policy status: License, rights and preservation arrangements remain in preparation. The author charges below apply to submissions received while this fee policy is displayed.
Open access
The proposed model makes published articles immediately free for readers to access and download. The journal will state the reuse license on each article when publication begins.
License and copyright
The draft proposes a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, with authors retaining copyright and granting the journal first-publication rights. Final terms will be confirmed before acceptance of manuscripts.
Article processing charge
Submission and peer review are free. An article processing charge applies only after a manuscript is accepted. The corresponding author will then receive an invoice for PKR 15,000 if the billing address is in Pakistan or USD 55 if the billing address is outside Pakistan. Rejected manuscripts are not charged.
No payment is requested before acceptance. The fee displayed when a manuscript is submitted will apply to that submission. Payment instructions will be provided with the invoice. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and are not influenced by payment or an author's ability to pay.
Archiving and preservation
JBBS has not published any articles yet. Each published article will have its own stable page with citation details and a downloadable PDF. Before the inaugural issue is released, the journal will establish a separate long-term preservation arrangement and name the service here.
